Man electrocuted while trying to steal copper wires

An unidentified person aged about 30 years was electrocuted while trying to steal copper wire from a transformer in Cheemaladaari village of Mominpet mandal in Ranga Reddy district on Monday, police said.

“A pair of cutting pliers and some other tools were found at the place indicated that he tried to cut the copper wire and got electrocuted after coming in contact with the live wires,” Vikarabad DySP P. Narsimhulu said.

Villagers saw his body in the afternoon and called in the police. A mobile phone with discharged battery was found on him.
