A 30-year-old person was found dead near Vanasthalipuram police station on Monday. Narender hailing from Kamareddy in Nizamabad district was walking towards the police station after consuming poison and collapsed at a nationalised bank near the police station. He was allegedly going to lodge a complaint against his wife for having an illicit affair.

On seeing him in an unconscious state, passers-by rushed him to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. Narender and his wife came to the city a few months ago in search of livelihood, police said.

Poisoned to death

In a separate case, a private employee Nageswara Rao killed his two-year-old daughter by administering poison and later tried to kill his wife Sony and himself by consuming poisonous substance at their house at Chintal in Jeedimetla on Monday. Police said Rao took the drastic step due to the increasing debt burden. The incident came to light when the family failed to respond to a financier’s call. Sensing trouble, he peeped through the window and found them in an unconscious state.

With the help of other residents, he rushed them to a private hospital where the girl was declared dead while the couple were battling for lives, according to police.

Attacked with knife

In another case, three pedestrians sustained injuries when a 28-year-old Rajesh attacked them with a knife at L.B. Nagar on Monday. The reasons behind the attack were not known, police said.
