A middle-aged man was caught by people while he was burning the body parts of a woman, believed to have been murdered by him, at a secluded place in Shamshabad on the outskirts on Monday night.

Residents of the locality grew suspicious when they noticed flames emanating from bushes at an isolated place around 7 p.m. They rushed there to see a man burning something. “We went closer only to realise that he was burning a woman’s body parts. It was scary and gory to watch it,” they told the Shamshabad police, whom they informed about the matter .

They caught hold of the man and thrashed him before handing him over to the police. The man later identified himself as Rupesh living in Padmaraonagar Colony. He claimed that he was stock market agent and was living with the victim Senthia believed to be an African national.

Investigators suspect that Rupesh developed hatred against the woman for some reason and murdered her. He cut the body’s limbs, packed them in a carton, put it in the car and drove to the isolated place. The villagers found a two-year-old girl Sania inside the car.

Two run over

An unidentified vehicle has run over two youngsters riding a bike at Saddupally village in Hayathnagar on city outskirts on Sunday. The victims were identified as P. Praveen, 23, and M. Prabhakar, 24.

They were cousins and residents of Gowrelli village, the police said on Monday. The victims were going towards Sarkargadda when they hit a boulder on roadside and fell off the bike. The vehicle, believed to be a lorry, coming behind ran over them.

Villagers of Gowrelli and family members and friends of the victims searched the area looking out for the accused lorry. They caught a tipper accusing its driver of killing the two youngsters.

“However, we didn’t find any concrete evidence to connect the lorry caught by them was involved in the accident. CLUES team was called in to examine blood stains found on the tyres,” the police said.
