The Communist Party of India (M) on Friday unveiled a model of the makeshift fortification and insides of the venue for its first Telangana State conference here from Sunday. The party general secretary Prakash Karat will inaugurate the conference at RTC Kalyanamandapam while Finance Minister Eatala Rajender, an activist of Progressive Democratic Students Union in his college days, will inaugurate the venue for the four day conference -- Nizam College Grounds.
The CPI (M) Telangana State secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram told a press conference today that film star Rajendraprasad had agreed to participate at an interactive forum during the conference to discuss the need for production of films to promote progressive thoughts in people. There will be a theatre to screen short films.
Mr. Veerabhadram said the conference will focus on the rich cultural diversity in the new State of Telangana and the role that the CPI (M) would play to sensitize people about it. There will be three stages at the venue dedicated to cultural performances.
The party had not laid emphasis on cultural aspects that impacted human lives in such a big way so far. The influence of literature, TV, Internet and social media would be discussed. A resolution on cultural issues would be discussed by participants.
