Actor Mahesh Babu broke his silence and tried to bat for his brother-in-law Jayadev Galla, who is contesting on TDP ticket from Guntur Lok Sabha seat.

On Thursday, the actor tweeted that though he is “apolitical,” he, however, firmly believes in his brother-in-law’s capabilities to bring about a difference in people’s lives.

Stopping short of asking the people to vote for Mr. Jayadev, Mr. Mahesh Babu, however, tread a cautious path by praising his brother-in-law as some one who “inspires” people.

The actor was not forthcoming if he would canvass in support of Mr. Jayadev.

This latest tweet assumes significance on more than one count. In January this year, after a visit to his father-in-law Krishna’s native village of Burripalem, Mr. Jayadev had announced that he has the support of his brother-in-law Mr. Mahesh Babu. Asked which party he would join, he was evasive. In March, Mr. Jaydev joined the TDP.
