Tension prevailed at the cremation of the techie, Madhukar Reddy Gudur, who committed suicide in Seattle last week, with his relatives attacking his wife, Swati, blaming her for the death.

Madhukar was cremated on Tuesday at his native village Rala Jangoan in Yadadri district.

His relatives blamed his wife for his death and some of the relatives picked up an argument asking her to go away and in the highly charged atmosphere, some relatives attacked her.

Later, Swati and her mother sought protection from the Bhongir police.

Madhukar was found hanging in his house on April 4 and he committed suicide allegedly after some arguments with his wife, who was working as a software professional.

The couple had a daughter, who is seven years old.

Relatives of Madhukar alleged that marital dispute had driven him to suicide. Parents of the couple had allegedly not been on talking terms with Madhukar for over an year due to some differences.

Before committing suicide, Madhukar reportedly sent a message to his mother asking her to forgive him.
