LPG subsidies scrapped: Centre accused of anti-people policies

August 03, 2017 11:59 pm | Updated 11:59 pm IST - NIZAMABAD

The BJP led NDA Government at the Centre has been implementing anti-people policies only to benefit the corporate houses and rich people and the scrapping off of subsidy on the LPG cylinders is a part of those policies, said V. Prabhakar, State secretary, All India Kisan Mazdoor Sangh.

Addressing the gathering of women who staged protest against the lifting of subsidy on LPG here on Thursday, he said that, on the one hand the government was stating that fuel prices all over the world were coming down and on the other, it resorted to increasing prices of all commodities. Narendra Modi while reciting the Swadeshi mantra was adopting policies in favour of foreign MNCs, he said.

The women made food on firewood ovens on the road.

Prabhakar warned the Centre and the State government of a fitting lesson they would be given in next elections by the common man. He demanded the Centre withdraw its decision of scrapping off subsidies at least now.

AIKMS leader V. Devaram, K. Gangadhar and P. Ramakrishna and PoW leader Godavari participated.
