Loans for Dalit entrepreneurs: Etala

March 18, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:49 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Finance Minister Etala Rajender on Tuesday said in the Assembly that the TS Government is considering to provide at least 25 p.c. of loan component as part of the bank linkage to Dalit and tribal entrepreneurs in addition to the 35 per cent subsidy of a unit cost. During his reply to the debate on budget, Mr. Rajender said the entrepreneurs from the two communities were finding it difficult to get 50 per cent of the unit cost as finance from banks. The government was planning to fund 25 per cent of the loan component as a measure of guarantee to the banks, he noted. He announced that people in Hyderabad would get water supply every day as soon as the water supply line from Godavari and third phase of Krishna water were completed. On budgetary estimates of last and provisions of this year, the minister said there was not much deviation in the expected revenue except for the receipt from land regularisation and sale. In all, 3.36 lakh applications were received for regularisation of land and the cost of land up to 125 square yards to be regularised free of cost would be about Rs.25,000 cr., Mr. Rajender noted.
