Legislature secretary Raja Sadaram feted

The services of former Telangana Legislature Secretary S. Raja Sadaram, who retired recently after serving for 42 years, are set to be utilised by the State Government in some other position going by the indications given by Legislative Affairs Minister T. Harish Rao. Mr. Sadaram, who was accorded a grand felicitation by the Legislature Secretariat here on Friday won the praise of the Assembly Speaker, Council Chairman, Ministers, Opposition leaders in both the Houses, floor leaders of political parties and legislators for conducting the proceedings of the Legislature smoothly even during trying times of Telangana movement.

At the event organised on the Legislative Assembly premises, they were all unanimous in acknowledging the contribution of Mr. Sadaram in ensuring that the Assembly and the Council were run in adherence to laid down rules.

Mr. Harish Rao said that Mr. Sadaram during his long tenure had worked with four Chief Ministers, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Rosaiah, Kiran Kumar Reddy and K. Chandrasekhar Rao. He faced several critical situations including the responsibility of ensuring that the Telangana Statehood resolution was adopted in the House as directed by the Centre. Chief Minister and Telangana Government will utilise the services of Mr. Sadaram, he added.

Assembly Speaker Madhusudhana Chary said that Mr. Sadaram was given extension of service because of his capabilities. His job required working simultaneously with the government, political parties, legislators, chairpersons and his department staff by striking a fine balance.

Council Chairman K.Swami Goud said for a novice like him in the legislature affairs, it was Mr.Sadaram’s guidance that helped him to learn and discharge his duties in the last three years.

Thanking every one, Mr.Sadaram said it was emotional moment for him and was fortunate to work for 42 long years in the constitutional body that made it possible for him to work with stalwarts right from Marri Chenna Reddy, Gautu Latchanna, Puchalapalli Sundarayya to K.Chandrasekhara Rao.
