Transport Department on Tuesday rescheduled the Learning and Driving licence tests slots for the convenience of all those applicants, who could not take the tests due to the Sakala Janula Samme.

All the slots booked from September 13 to October 24 have now been rescheduled from October 27 to December 7.

For instance, applicants, who booked license test slots on September 13th, will now have to take their tests on October 27.

Likewise, all those applicants, who booked their slots since September 13 will have to check for the rescheduled dates that are available on the www.aptransport.org website.

The time slot and the venue of the test would remain the same. However, keeping in mind the expected rush of applicants, authorities have relaxed the stipulated time period of reporting one hour before the test.

Employees would ensure that all applicants take their tests as per the rescheduled dates without any inconvenience.

In an effort to extend better services to applicants, the department has extended the counter working hours from the existing 10.30 a.m. to 2 p.m to 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., said a senior official.

Similarly all the new vehicle owners, who could not register their vehicles during the strike period, can now do the same, without paying any additional charges.

The department has announced an additional 15 days grace period for owners to register their vehicles and payment of fee for those, who booked fancy numbers, he added.
