Passbooks of agriculture lands may soon be carried like a debit or credit card with the Government planning to introduce high security cards.

Deputy Chief Minister Mehmood Ali said they have studied the formats of some neighbouring states and also finalised a few models and design. Final decision will be taken with the consent of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekara Rao, he said while replying to a question in the Assembly.

Earlier, Congress MLAs, T. Jeevan Reddy, G. Chinna Reddy and T. Rammohan Reddy said majority of land holdings were with small and medium farmers who are facing problems with fake documents created by cheaters who were taking loans on their names. Mr. Chinna Reddy said Andhra Pradesh has already made all its land documents online and anyone can verify it and wanted the Government to implement the same in Telangana soon. Mr. Mehmood Ali said in Telangana too documents have been made available online.
