The Lake Police rescued three women, who tried to end their lives at Hussainsagar on Monday.

In the first case, the police rescued a 29-year-old woman from Bansilalpet. The woman reportedly quarrelled with her husband and came to Hussainsagar to jump into the water and end her life. However, the police spotted her and rescued her.

In another case, a housewife from Srinagar Colony, who came to Lumbini Park and was planning to end her life, was rescued. The woman told the police that her in-laws were harassing her for quite sometime. The police called her husband and counselled them.

Similarly, the police rescued a 41-year-old woman from Kothapet, who tried to commit suicide by consuming poison. The woman took poison reportedly due to some family problems. She was shifted to a private hospital for treatment.

Young couple ends life

A couple committed suicide by hanging themselves at their house in Kushaiguda on Sunday, the police said.

Mantri Srinivas (26), crane operator and Mounika (20), both native of Nalgonda district, got married in December and recently came to the city. They had rented a house in Suryanagar Colony of Kushaiguda.

On Sunday, as the couple did not come out of the house, the neighbours got suspicious and knocked the door. When they didn’t get any response, they peeped through the window to find the couple hanging. The Kushaiguda police rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to Gandhi Hospital mortuary.

“Family told they had some family issues, which could be a reason for their suicide,” Inspector, Kushaiguda, N. Venkata Ramana said.
