The Congress MP says every people’s representative should explore every avenue to stall the Centre’s proceedings to carve out a separate Telangana
Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal has said it is time for every Member of Parliament and Legislative Assembly in the Andhra and Rayalaseema regions to come together, regardless of their political affiliation, and move the Supreme Court against the Centre’s move to bifurcate the State.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday evening, Mr. Rajagopal urged every people’s representative to explore every avenue available to stall the Centre’s proceedings to carve out a separate Telangana.
To a question, he admitted that he had failed in his reading of the situation. However, it was not as if all doors were closed to keep AP together, he said. Together with like-minded people, an action plan is being chalked out, he stated.
We have three more steps to climb to achieve our objective of a unified Andhra Pradesh. “We will move the Supreme Court, we will petition the President of India, and we have the option of fighting it out in Parliament,” Mr. Rajagopal said.
“I am in the know of things, of every secret agreement made, and I will certainly expose them. But the need of the hour is to get our act together and, shedding political affiliations, exercise every option available,” he said.
