KTR seeks investment from Japan in automobile sector

Industries and IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao has strongly pitched for investment from Japanese automobile companies in the State.

Mr. Rama Rao called on Suzuki Motor Corporation chairman Osamu Suzuki during his visit to Shizouka prefecture on the second day of his visit to Japan. He explained the salient features of the State’s industrial policies, the TS-iPASS, a single window clearance initiative introduced for investors in particular, highlighting the opportunities offered by the State to automobile sector.

The delegation headed by the Minister met local administration representatives in Shizouka prefecture and visited the Suzuki Museum at Hamamatsu. Mr. Rama Rao, who later met Shizuoka Governor Kawakatsu Heita, discussed about the prospects of mutual cooperation between the two States. He invited the Governor to visit Telangana to explore synergies between the two States in this regard.

In his meeting with representatives of Shizuoka Bank, Mr. Rama Rao discussed about the opportunities in banking and financial sector in the State. Telangana which had several marquee names in banking, financial services and insurance sector had the requisite talent pool readily available for the industry, he said. The delegation later met Yoshitsugu Matsushita of Stanley Electric Co. Ltd, Shigeru Isobe of Sakurai Ltd and representatives of ASTI Corporation.
