The Congress party continued its attack on the government on power issue, alleging that ₹ 32,000 crore worth construction work was allotted on nomination basis in the Yadadri power project and even Union Minister Piyush Goyal had advised against new projects in Telangana when power was available in abundance in the country.

Speaking to reporters here, Congress senior leader and MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that the government should allocate such work to to the public sector firms. Similarly, solar project tenders, to produce 500 MW, were signed in a hurry and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao allocated the projects to the contractors who extended financial benefits to him, ignoring the advice of officials. Mr. Reddy said the government will lose ₹ 4,000 crore as it signed on the agreement for 25 years. and demanded that the solar tenders be abolished immediately. He said he was ready to prove the charges and invited the government for an open debate. If the government proves him wrong he was ready to send his resignation to the Speaker from the debate platform itself, he said.
