Kokapet land case adjourned

February 08, 2012 11:21 am | Updated 11:21 am IST - HYDERABAD:

A Division Bench of the High Court comprising Chief Justice Madan B Lokur and Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar on Tuesday adjourned a batch of writ appeals pertaining to lands at Kokapet to March 6.

It may be recalled that a single judge of the court had directed the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) to refund the money paid by the highest successful bidders in ‘golden mile auction' held by HMDA as the land was not handed over in time and there was title dispute and the HMDA had allegedly suppressed this fact to the developers.

By virtue of this judgment the HMDA had to pay huge amounts of Rs. 460 crores to the developers.

The HMDA filed the appeal and it engaged the services of Attorney General Vahavathy. Now these cases are adjourned to March 6 as the court was informed that in a parallel development another Bench had reserved its verdict on the ownership claims and judgment is likely to be delivered soon.
