Shailaja, a seventh standard student of All Saints High School, was elated as she learnt a few tips to become successful from none other than her role model — former President A.P.J Abdul Kalam.
It was not Shailaja alone, many students, who attended the interaction programme with the former President at All Saints High School, were jubilant as the school premises reverberated with cheers and claps.
Addressing the students, Dr. Kalam said acquiring knowledge and hard work to achieve goals were key qualities to be successful. Students from Rosary Convent High School, St. Marks Boys Town High School and Little Flower High School also participated in the programme.
He advised the students to aim great, continuously acquire knowledge, work hard and develop perseverance to achieve their respective goals.
He described these four steps as essential tools for becoming unique and standing above the rest.
The former President shared his opinions on how to make a home happy place with students.
A happy home should have a library, a happy mother, an ethical father and a lot of plants, he said, amidst huge applause from students.
Later, Dr. Kalam made students take an oath to plant five trees each.
He asked students to follow the principles taught by teachers as they hold an important place in their lives.
Rev. Brother Kallarackal, Rev. Brother M. A. George, Brother Balashowrie and Brother Shajan Antony, principal of All Saints High School were present on the occasion.
