Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today directed the State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department to conduct a detailed enquiry into the fire which claimed five lives, including that of a new-born baby, at Manikonda near here.
The Chief Minister spoke to the state Home Minister Sabita Reddy who visited the spot and obtained details about the last night incident.
As reports indicated that the apartment complex and the adjacent godown did not have requisite permissions from the municipal department, and the fire tenders could not reach the spot in time, the Chief Minister ordered an inquiry, a press release from CMO said.
Asking the authorities to initiate action against those responsible, Mr. Kiran Kumar also extended sympathies to the bereaved families.
Ranga Reddy district Collector A Vani Prasad and Cyberabad Police Commissioner Dwaraka Tirumala Rao visited the spot on Monday and supervised the relief operation.

Request CM to take action against erring all officials who gave permissions for
apartments in Gram Panchayat Layouts that have G+2 floors only - first build
illegal then regularise using BRS/LRS.
Also, if he could get a proper audit done of this mushrooming apartment
culture in Puppalguda, Neknampur, Narsingi, Manikonda areas where close to
400 apartment complexes are there and adding by the day. The infrastructure
of drinking water is not there even after 7 years when I built my house in
Neknampur, drainage/sewage lines and roads were designed for independent
houses but now mushrooming apartments will bring the whole area to
breakdown shortly.
Also, hope the AP Film Development Corporation takes note of the reckless &
illegal shooting of TV serials in residential areas - we have brought this to their
attention and also to CP - RR District through Narsingi PS but still goes
unabated. Request CM to check this menace and bring sanity in this area.
From shakpet to narsing via o.u colony,Friends colony,Secretariat coloy more than 2500 apartment is there.we request the govt form a fire house near this area at the earliest. It will be to protect the fire mishap very soon in future.
