Kin’s role suspected in baby’s abduction

November 15, 2013 12:08 am | Updated 12:08 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Investigators probing the abduction of a newborn female baby from a private maternity hospital at Dayara Market in Musheerabad a few days ago are suspecting the role of a family member.

“At present, we don’t want to reveal any information as investigations are on. We are probing the case from all angles,” said a police official associated with the investigation.

Women not involved

He ruled out the involvement of two women detained in Mumbai in the case. The Musheerabad police detained the women for their alleged involvement in a similar case that took place earlier.

But the police later let them off. The baby’s parents — Shaik Sadiq and Rehana Begum — from Bholakpur on Thursday provided blood samples to officials of Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory for conducting a DNA test with that of the body of a female infant found in bushes at IIIT junction under Chandanagar police station limits on Tuesday.
