Children undergoing treatment for cancer at a private hospital in the city were in for a surprise on Friday.

They had the rare privilege of spending time with some of the leading cricketers, including Yuvraj Singh. He and other members of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team, including Ashish Nehra, V.V.S. Laxman, Bhuvaneswar Kumar, Tom Moody and Ben Cutting, visited the St. Jude India Childcare Centre and spent time with children who were fighting cancer.

The team spent time with the children playing games as also dancing with them.

Yuvraj Singh, who had a brush with cancer, said it had been his endeavour to find time for things “that really matter”. It was important to keep “instilling spirit of live, dare, inspire among these young and spirited fighters”.

He complimented his team mates from Sunrisers Hyderabad in joining him and extending their support in making the day special for these children.
