April 01, 2015 05:19 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 10:08 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

The city police on Wednesday morning rescued a fourth standard student Sanjit, who was abducted from Himayatnagar on Tuesday night. Five persons including two women who had a role in the kidnapping were arrested.

Sanjit was returning home along with his elder brother Sunvith, from tutorial class when some persons dragged him into an auto rickshaw and sped away. Sunvith immediately informed about the abduction to his father Narender who owns a medical store at Narayanguda.

The businessman immediately alerted the police control room by dialling 100. As the message was flashed across the city the police formed four special teams. Early on Wednesday the police traced the boy to a house at Hasmathpet in Bowenpally and rescued him.

“The main accused Vijay planned the abduction thinking that Narender could pay huge ransom. Vijay, five years ago, worked in the Narender’s medical store and was familiar with the family,” DCP (Central) V B Kamalasan Reddy said.
