Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will not attend the swearing-in ceremony of M. Venkaiah Naidu as Vice-President at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Friday.

Instead, he asked TRS leader in the Lok Sabha A.P. Jitender Reddy to be present on his behalf. Sources said Mr. Rao decided to stay away from the ceremony in view of the wedding of Speaker S. Madhusudana Chary’s son here on Friday. He was also said to be suffering from back pain.

Mr. Rao had told a media conference recently that he would be going for the event and incidentally also take up certain issues with the Centre.
