Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will launch the new health scheme for government employees on Wednesday. The government will provide free treatment for all ailments without any ceiling on the expenditure and without any contribution from the employees.

The Chief Minister announced this in a meeting with representatives of several Telangana employee bodies. He told that issuance of new health cards would begin on Wednesday and the scheme would be unparallel in the country. He told the employees that treatment would be given in private and government hospitals for the first six months and later it would be given only in government hospitals by improving infrastructure.

Later, the leaders said the free health scheme would cover only government employees and their family members to begin with but would later cover pensioners, university employees, aided staff and public sector employees.
