KCR sanctions Rs.12 crore for water tank in Old City

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday said that the ‘Swaach Hyderabad’ campaign will continue for next four years until the entire city is clean. He was speaking at a public meeting organised at Balshetty Kheth in Darulshifa area of old city.

The Chief Minister stated that the old city was very much part of the city and the Government plans to develop it on par with other areas of the city. He stated that different cultures and religious groups had coexisted in the city for the last many centuries.

“Hyderabad is well known for its ‘ganga-jamuni tehzeeb’ and we will restore it,” he told the gathering. Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi informed the Chief Minister of water scarcity in Dabeerpura. Following the representation the Chief Minister promised to sanction Rs.12 crore for construction of an overhead water reservoir at Balshetty khet.

He also promised to release funds for drainage lines and proposed construction of houses for the poor at Dabeerpura. Deputy Chief Minister Mohd. Mahmood Ali and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi were also present during the programme.
