TRS MLA of Mahbubabad Shanker Naik today tried to meet Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to explain his point in the controversy arising out of his rash behaviour with Collector Preethi Meena but he was reportedly denied an appointment.

As his attempts failed, Mr. Naik met Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari and Principal Secretary in CMO S. Narsing Rao at the Secretariat.

Separately, Jangaon MLA of TRS Muthireddy Yadagiri Reddy met Chief Secretary S.P. Singh at the Secretariat to offer his explanation on complaints against him by the local Collector A. Devasena. The IAS officers association had recently taken up the complaints of Ms. Meena and Ms. Devasena with the Chief Secretary after the episode involving Mr. Naik.

The association president B.P. Acharya told The Hindu that the issues concerning Ms. Devasena who was also part of the delegation to meet Mr. Singh were orally told to him as they too could erupt in the same manner as at Mahbubabad.

Mr. Yadagiri Reddy allegedly dabbled in temple lands at Komuravelli in Cherial mandal of Jangaon district, incurring the wrath of the Chief Minister. He blamed the Collector in the lands issue and for violation of protocol vested in him.
