KCR gets swanky SUVs for his convoy

TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao has got one of the two Toyota Land Cruiser Prados, a luxury vehicle which is one of the most expensive in the SUV segment, which former Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy acquired as part of his convoy last year.

The other vehicle has been allotted to the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Mr. Rao drove to the Raj Bhavan in this car, accompanied by four other Toyota Fortuner – 500 vehicles in the escort.

He was also provided a jammer in a Scorpio.

The government had purchased the two Land Cruiser Prados at a cost of Rs. 4 crore, including bullet proofing.

The vehicles bear close resemblance to the Toyota Fortuner, which conceals the identity of the VVIP in the convoy.

The convoy was parked outside the residence of Mr. Rao as top honchos of the industry, IAS officers and TRS supporters thronged the premises to meet the Chief Minister designate.

GMR group chairman G.M. Rao, industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad, Chief Commissioner of Land Administration I.Y.R. Krishna Rao and other senior IAS officers met him on Sunday.

The police barricaded the lane opposite the residence.
