Chief Minister K. Chandrashekara Rao fears Prime Minister of Narendra Modi as the corruption in the Government and the beneficiaries are being tracked by the Central Government agencies, Former Union Minister S. Jaipal Reddy said.

He said the Chief Minister is well aware of this and that is why he was full of praise of Mr. Modi while he attacked BJP president Amit Shah in the press conference on Wednesday.

Public drama

He felt the public bashing indulged in by both the parties was just a drama and they would work together in the 2019 elections. “If Mr. KCR is sincere in his criticism, let him declare that TRS will not support the NDA in the Presidential elections.”

Mr. Reddy reminded that KCR was keen on working with the BJP-led NDA even in 2009 elections as well and also openly declared that he would go with BJP in the 2014 elections too. “Aayana Siddhanthavadi kaadu kevalam Radanthavaadi” (He doesn’t believe in any ideology but believes in creating nuisance),” Mr. Reddy said. The senior Congress leader said KCR has the habit of telling lies and misleading people was his nature but people have realised it now, and they won’t fall in his trap. He was also critical of Mr. Amit Shah and described his tour as ‘utter flop’ and all that he revealed about Central Government’s assistance was utter false.

NDA achievement

He reminded that it was the UPA that accepted the 14th Finance Commission’s recommendations of sharing 40% funds with the states. The NDA Government implemented it as it came to power immediately. “All that is being given to states is as per the Constitution and it was not any generosity from the BJP.” Mr. Reddy ruled out the emergence of third alternative in the State and said “It will be TRS versus Congress in the next elections.” On the possibility of working with Telangana TDP, he said Congress was ready to work with all parties except TRS and BJP.
