May 22, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:38 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday called on Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan to request him to attend a mass marriages programme conducted by TRS MLA of Nagarkurnool Marri Janardhan Reddy at Nagarkurnool on Friday. The Governor accepted the proposal.

Sources said Mr. Rao also used the occasion to discuss the raging controversy following his announcement that the government would resume 11 acres of land on Osmania University campus for construction of low cost housing to poor.

Mr. Narasimhan is the Chancellor of the university. Mr. Rao was also said to have broached the filling up of a vacancy in the Legislative Council from Governor’s quota and the tussle between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments over the demand of the latter State seeking conduct of a common admission test to fill up 50 per cent of seats in NIT, Warangal.
