A youth from Karnataka, suspected to be suffering from mental illness, was reunited with his family members by the volunteers of the town-based Annam Seva Foundation here on Saturday.

The youth identified as 27-year-old Khader Basha, of Muddumudugu village in Kolar district of Karnataka, was rescued by the members of the non-governmental organisation while wandering on the streets at Gopalapuram here a week ago.

He was shifted to a shelter home run by the Annam Seva Foundation at Danvaigudem in the town, where he was given proper care.

The organisers of the shelter home traced his family’s address based on the information given by the latter.

Basha was handed over to his family members by Annam Seva Foundation founder Annam Srinivasa Rao in the presence of Khammam Urban Circle Inspector of Police Nagendra Chary in adherence to the stipulated procedures here on Saturday afternoon.
