Kaleshwaram will transform TS: Governor

E.S.L. Narasimhan undertakes inspection and aerial survey for work related to the project

Terming Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project as a magnificent project that would transform Telangana State on all fronts, Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan expressed complete satisfaction over the progress of works and hoped the project would be completed in six months with the blessings of the presiding deities of Kaleshwaram shrine.

The Governor, along with his wife Vimala Narasimhan, undertook a whirl-wind inspection of the ongoing Kaleshwaram project work in Jayashankar-Bhupalapalli district, Peddapalli and Karimnagar districts on Saturday.

Dedicating the project to the people of the State, the Governor told mediapersons that the multi-purpose project would provide water for irrigation, drinking and also for industries and help in the economic development of the State.

Stating that work was going round the clock, he said that the workers were also happy with the facilities provided by the government and the executing agencies, such as online payments and medical and PF facilities.

The first couple landed in a helicopter at Kannepalli pump house near Kaleshwaram temple and went in a convoy to Sri Kaleshwara Muktheeshwara Swamy Devasthanam and offered prayers. Later, they inspected the Kannepalli pump house works and also Kaleshwaram barrage construction works at Medigadda. Speaker P Madhusudhana Chary, Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao, Collector R.V. Karnan and SP Bhaskaran and others were also present.

Later, along with the Minister for Irrigation and others, they heli-hopped to Siripuram barrage and Annaram pump house in Kasipeta village and also inspected Sundilla barrage works in Manthani mandal of Peddapalli district.

The Governor also made an aerial survey of Sripada Yellampalli project and Goliwada pump house works near Ramagundam and reached Nandi Medaram village of Dharmaram mandal to inspect the tunnel works and surge-pool of package-6 works. Later, he concluded his tour by visiting the Laxmipur tunnel works in Ramadugu mandal in Karimnagar district. Collector Sarfaraz Ahmad, Commissioner of Police V.B. Kamalasan Reddy and others were also present.
