Apart from exhibitors in the State, those from Amritsar, Chennai, Haryana, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai are also participating in the expo. This year, the expo would also feature beauty and massage salons, said Hyderabad International Trade Expositions Limited Sanjay Kapoor at a press conference here on Tuesday.
“Last year, unaudited accounts of the cumulative sales during the expo figured at Rs.10 crore and this year we expect it to be even more,” said Mr. Kapoor.
On the rise in gold prices and its impact on the sales this year, A.P. Gold, Silver and Diamonds and Jewellers Association zone Chairman B. Mahabaleshwar Rao said people were purchasing gold as an investment option and not just as jewellery.
In the last ten years, gold prices have increased by 15 to 25 per cent and the World Gold Council expects the prices to shoot up by another 30 per cent this year, he informed.
“It's always safe to invest in gold and it is the right time to purchase more,” said Mr. Rao.
