Police are on the lookout for a paramilitary force constable, who reportedly impregnated a mentally unsound woman at Kulkacharla village in Ranga Reddy district, over 100 km from here.
The victim was neighbour of the accused cop, Nagesh (25), police said here on Friday.
Family members took the victim, in her early 20s, to a doctor who confirmed that she was pregnant.
“After being asked repeatedly, the woman told them that Nagesh had sexually assaulted her several times,” a police official said. The accused was not available at his house when police went to question him.
The victim is second of the three wards of Kishan Singh, an APSRTC conductor, born to his first wife.
Singh married another woman, also a bus conductor, two years ago following his first wife’s death. He lives in Ameerpet with his second wife. He left his second daughter and the youngest son under the care of his second wife’s parents at Kulkacharla.
