Japan team to study pollution

A visiting team of Japanese experts will prepare a report on the solid waste management and measures to control air pollution in the city and Warangal, as requested by the Telangana state government.

The team met Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K.T.Rama Rao on Tuesday, and promised cooperation in terms of solid waste treatment plants, and spot incineration plants.

Mr.Rama Rao explained them the measures being planned by the government including shifting of polluting industries, and the measures to be adopted at the Pharma City project for pollution control.

Already, a delegation from the state toured Japan to study the waste management and air pollution control measures.

The team, constituting delegates from Japan External Trade Organisation, and Clean Authority of Tokyo, will visit the Bibinagar Power Plant, and Jawahar Nagar dump yard in the city, and also Warangal. They have promised cooperation for establishment of Clean Air Authority in Telangana.
