Congress MP and filmstar Chiranjeevi is not on the radar of the Janasena Party that will contest the 2019 Assembly elections in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana with 60% of seats offered to youth.
“Our paths are different and we are two different entities. There is no chance of us working together,” Janasena founder and filmstar Pawan Kalyan said when specifically asked if both the brothers would come together. He was speaking at a press conference organised on the third anniversary of Janasena here on Tuesday.
He also made it clear that Janasena, as of now, was not a part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ruling the Centre though he played a significant role in drumming up support for both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in Andhra Pradesh in the last elections. Mr. Pawan Kalyan said he would contest from Anantapur though his party will be in the fray in Telangana as well. Janasena will transform into a full time political party from March 2018 after completing the ground work.
The party has identified 32 issues haunting people, including agriculture and education. People can send their views within 2,500 words and post on ‘www.janasenaparty.org’. If found interesting, the party will personally call and discuss the views and suggestions.
On the criticism that he was soft on Mr. Naidu, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said he believes in constructive criticism and not haunting them on day-to-day basis. Similar norm applies to Telangana Government, he said, adding that people have voted for them and they should be given a chance to prove. On the party’s structure, he said senior and experienced people can’t be ignored while building the party. However, he would be wary of people given his experience in Praja Rajyam Party (PRP), where, he felt, lot of people joined for personal gains than serving the people.
