Jail term for abusing on caste lines

A court dealing with cases under Prevention of SC/ST Atrocities Act sentenced one M. Madhusudan of Kadapa to one and half years imprisonment and levied a fine of Rs.12,000 on charges of abusing a person on caste lines.

Madhusudan was charged with abusing Penchalaiah of Konapuram in Nandalur mandal on caste lines when he came to give evidence in a dowry harassment case in Nandalur, according to a complaint lodged wth the police on September 27, 2012, Nandalur sub-inspector B.V. Krishnaiah said.
