A day after the AICC took a serious view of its programme on Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy's “Sakshi” TV channel, telecast another one on Monday, this time targeting Chief Minister K. Rosaiah.
The 30-minute-long ‘Current Affairs' programme aired at 9. 30 p.m. focussed Mr. Rosaiah's “failures” in effectively implementing the welfare and development programmes initiated by Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy such as ‘Jalayagnam', ‘Arogyasri' and the fee reimbursement for weaker sections students. The fee reimbursement scheme was sought to be diluted but ultimately continued with numerous strings attached.
The programme held the Chief Minister responsible for mishandling the situation arising out of regional differences between Telangana and Andhra, admonishing Ministers for not defending him against Opposition attacks and failing to get the high command's nod for reshuffling his Cabinet in spite of frequent visits to New Delhi. It charged him with initially endorsing later trying to scuttle Jagan's “Odarpu yatra”.
The channel aired clips of his angry comments at the media and partymen at various fora to show him as a person with little patience and tolerance. The programme, telecast on the eve of Mr. Rosaiah's visit to Delhi, wondered whether he would get the high command's approval for his wish list.
