An ad agency owner died on the spot and his two friends sustained injuries after Verna car in which they were travelling rammed into a pavement and turned turtle near Microsoft office at Gachibowli in the early hours of Sunday. He was the son of a senior Income Tax department official.

Twenty-three-year-old Abhiram of Hill Ridge Villas in Gachibowli was on his way to a hotel along with his two friends when the accident occurred. Raidurgam Sub-Inspector K. Rajendra said the car first hit the pavement and later veered off before coming to a halt. Death was instant for Abhiram, while his friends suffered injuries. Police booked a case under Section 304A (causing death by negligence) and handed over the body to family members after an autopsy at the Osmania General Hospital.

One killed in accident

A 32-year-old man died after the motorcycle he was travelling along with his friend hit a central median at Gurramguda on Saturday night.

The victim has been identified as Shakeel of SBI Colony in Vanasthalipuram. The accident happened when Shakeel and his friend Shiva Kumar were returning home after attending their duties. The duo was working for the ongoing metro rail project works, according to police.

Man found dead

A 27-year-old medical transcriptionist was found dead on the railway tracks at Nuclear Fuel Complex in Moulali on Sunday morning. Police said G. Viswanath was staying at his grandmother’s house in Kukatpally. On Saturday, he came to his parents’ house at Kailasagiri in the Housing Board Colony. A few minutes later, he left the house saying that he would return home within an hour but his body was found on the tracks on Sunday morning. Railway police said efforts were on to collect more details from the victim’s family to ascertain the cause of death.

Infant’s body found

One-day-old baby girl was found dead in a dustbin at Golnaka under Amberpet police station limits on Sunday.

The incident came to light when the residents noticed the body and called the police.

Police preserved the body at Osmania General Hospital for autopsy.
