The first ever Raising Day Celebration of the Intelligence Security Wing (ISW) was held at the wing’s office at Khairatabad in the presence of Director General of Police Anurag Sharma and former State police chiefs on Sunday.

ISW was created 32 years ago with the specific task of providing security cover to VIPs and VVIPs in the united Andhra Pradesh. However, this was the first time the ISW Raising Day was observed. Along with Mr. Sharma, former DGPs, Swaranjit Sen and B. Prasada Rao, National Investigation Agency Additional DGP V.S.K. Kaumudi and Intelligence IGP Naveen Chand were present. “ISW personnel are the quiet warriors and their work often goes unrecognised. But they keep the social and political fabric of the State stable and safe,” said the DGP.

Mr. Naveen Chand, recalling the Naxalite attack in 2003 on then Chief Minister of AP N. Chandrababu Naidu, said the latter had survived with minor injuries since he had a bullet proof vehicle. was provided to him.
