IRCTC unveils offer on Buddhist circuit

The Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation Limited has launched companion travel free offer for Indian citizens travelling on the Mahaparinirvan Express that connects sites places of Buddhist importance. The trip commences October 5.

The journey covers Bodh Gaya, Nalanda, Rajgir, Sarnath, Varanasi, Kushinagar, Lumbini (Nepal) Sravasti and Agra. Tourists and pilgrims from over 30 countries have travelled on this special train in the last six years. The trip is ideal for those on looking to undertake a Buddhist pilgrimage in the country, a press note said.

The all-inclusive price for two people would now be Rs. 70,000 for AC first-class and Rs.57,000 for AC 2-tier class. This comprehensive tour package of seven nights and eight days begins and ends at Delhi’s Safdarjung railway station.

The package includes a journey by an exclusive tourist train, hotel accommodation, road transportation in AC Deluxe buses, paid meals, sightseeing, tour-guide service, travel insurance, onboard security etc.
