An eight-month-old baby girl was kidnapped by two motorcycle-borne persons from Shivam Road in Amberpet on Saturday night.

The child’s mother, Sujana, was on her way to her house in Amberpet in an autorickshaw after seeing a doctor at Tilaknagar when the abductors came from behind, overpowered her and snatched away the baby around 9 p.m. Even before Sujana could react, kidnappers had fled from the spot, said Amberpet Sub-Inspector T. Murali Krishna.

Sujana immediately alerted her relatives, who approached the Amberpet police. The family had not received any ransom call, police said.

Baby found dead

An infant was found dead on the roadside near the Outer Ring Road, Koheda, on Sunday morning. Passers-by, noticing the baby wrapped in a polythene cover with ants swarming all over her, alerted police. The body was shifted to the OGH.
