Flagging off a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ from the Babu Jagjeevan Ram statue at Basheerbagh here on Monday, Union Minister for Labour B. Dattatreya said by the year 2022, most of the five crore vacancies of jobs that were expected to open up, would be filled up by Indians across the globe.

Addressing the gathering, he said that by fostering national integration, a new India would be created where there would be health for all as a primary entitlement, job, wage and social security for those in the unorganised sector too, where farmers’ income would double and crop insurance becomes a must for all crops.

Mr. Dattatreya said that the spirit seen among people between 1942 and 1947 should be replicated between the years 2017 and 2022 to achieve the new India with all these targets. The Lal Bahadur Stadium here should become another ‘Govalia Tank Grounds’ and the sacrifices of freedom fighters should be kept in mind, he said.

The name of the game should be minimum Government and maximum governance and a Government that would strive for the betterment of the working classes, farmers, the downtrodden, the oppressed, suppressed and depressed. All this should lead to a new and better Hyderabad and Telangana, the Union Minister said. Among others present at the yatra between Basheerbagh and the Hussainsagar Tank Bund were State Bharatiya Janata Party President and MLA K. Laxman and MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy.

The officialdom was represented by Employees State Insurance Corporation Regional Director Arun Pandey and Regional Provident Fund Commissioner Sri Krishna.

Other departments involved included the Director-General of Mines and Safety and the Central Labour Commissionerate.
