The physics paper of the IIT-JEE (Main) exam, held on Sunday, is likely to be the decider for candidates aspiring to figure in the top 1.5 lakh who will be eligible for the JEE-Advanced.
Students found the Physics paper the toughest, followed by Mathematics and Chemistry in decreasing order of difficulty.
The exam was held without any hiccups across the State in five centres. The three-hour paper had 90 questions for 360 marks with the order of subjects different in different versions of the booklets. The options given for the questions were also shuffled in various versions, said Ajay Antony, director of coaching institute TIME.
Mr. Kondala Rao, who trains IIT aspirants at Narayana IIT Academy, said the paper was similar to last year’s and the Physics paper had lengthy questions.
The cut-off mark last year was 113 for the open category, 70 for OBC, 50 for SC and 45 for ST candidates. It is likely to be similar this year too, Mr. Rao said.
