IIC Technologies acquires aircraft

Geospatial services firm IIC Technologies has acquired a new aircraft which it will deploy for a survey in Odisha under the National Land Record Modernisation Programme.

The company, which offers solutions and services for acquisition, management, integration and dissemination of geospatial data, is a service provider for the Government of India programme.

Announcing the acquisition of a new Cessna aircraft, IIC Technologies managing director Rajesh Alla said in a statement that a site office in Odisha had also been opened recently for the survey work. Since its foray into land surveying five years ago, the company has completed survey of about 40,000 sq km in Gujarat, Bihar and at the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, including some areas with most challenging terrain and dense forest.

Head of IIC’s Geo Surveys Business Col. Hari Prasad said the company was also involved in an inter-disciplinary project on the restoration of Kolleru lake ecosystem sponsored by the Andhra University. Use of aerial survey techniques with state-of-the-art digital mapping camera was a unique service proposition of IIC, he said. The company now owns two Cessna Caravan aircraft and has over 1,000 technical professionals for the round-the-clock project work.

The release, listing the company’s expertise in surveys of heritage structures, said IIC’s Innovation Centre in Hyderabad conducts applied research in geospatial sciences. Through IIC Academy, the company is engaged in capacity-building in the area of geospatial sciences.
