A 25-year-old man from old city who went on a sightseeing trip to Goa drowned at the Calangute beach in North Goa. His body was found on Sunday afternoon, his family said.

Mohd. Sami, a mobile technician from Hafeezbabanagar, left for Goa along with four others on a sightseeing trip five days ago. On Friday, the group reportedly went for a swim and were caught in the high tides. While others swam back to safety, Sami went missing. On Sunday afternoon, his body was washed ashore. “Sami left the house saying he was going along with his employer. It was only on Friday that we came to know that he had gone for a picnic and that the tragedy had taken place,” the victim’s father Mohd. Subhanuddin told reporters here.
