A thick fog that enveloped the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad on Saturday morning forced authorities to divert four incoming aircraft to Chennai.

Airport authorities said two Indigo flights from Jaipur and Bangalore and two SpiceJet flights from Ahmedabad and Delhi were diverted to land in Chennai between 7 a.m and 8.07 am. Some flights which were to take off were also delayed.

'The fog has cleared now and air traffic has been restored. The diverted flights are also on the way to Hyderabad. It was a minor disruption of services, airport sources said.
