Sudden showers lashed parts of city on Saturday. The unexpected showers saw motorists and people running for cover.
Rainfall was reported from Habsiguda, Vanasthalipuram, Dilsukhnagar, Malakpet, Charminar, Falaknuma and M. J. Market areas.
Power outages
City residents from many areas experienced hours of blackouts on Saturday night, as quite a few feeders gave way under the impact of the sporadic rainfall.
Though the showers were not heavy, many 33KV feeders tripped, plunging thousands of households into darkness for hours.
Chief General Manager of the CPDCL Metro Zone A.G.Satish Kumar informed that four 33kv substations at Narayanguda, Miralam, Attapur and Sitaphalmandi broke down due to showers and work was on to restore them by the time reports last came in.
