Hyderabad student killed in road accident in US

A student from Hyderabad, Vishwaja Muppa, was killed in a road accident at Port Jefferson Station near New York in U.S. three days ago, the victim’s family friends said on Thursday.

Three other classmates of the victim, who were also Indians and pursuing their degree programmes in Stony Brook University, sustained injuries. One of them, Amanpreet Dhaliawal from Gujarat, was critically injured, Ms. Muppa’s family friend here Ravi Teja told The Hindu .

The four students were travelling in a Toyota Highlander when it collided a stationary police car at a darkened intersection in Port Jefferson Station, Mr. Teja said. The power outage was attributed to Hurricane Sandy.
