Hyderabad, RR ahead in per capita income

Most districts fall way behind

Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts continue to be the most prospective districts in the State with the two districts leading far ahead of others in per capita income.

Hyderabad reported per capita income of ₹2.99 lakh at current prices during 2015-16 closely followed by Rangareddy with ₹2.88 lakh respectively with Medchal-Malkajgiri district placed in the third place with ₹1.62 lakh respectively. All the other districts trail behind in terms per capita income, according to the statistical yearbook published by the Department of Economics and Statistics of the Government of Telangana.

The report said Jagtial (₹77,669), Kamareddy (₹78,853) and Warangal Urban (₹79,753) were at the bottom in terms of per capita income with Nagarkurnool (₹81,147) and Wanaparthy (₹83,196) faring a shade better. Several other districts including Kumram Bheem (₹89,947), Mahabubabad (₹84,464), Rajanna Sircilla (₹84,593), Jangaon (₹88,269) and Vikarabad (₹85,865) too could not cross the ₹90,000 mark in terms of per capita income.

Adilabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Jayashankar and Warangal Rural reported per capita of over ₹90,000 while Bhadradri-Kothagudem district reported per capita income of ₹1.23 lakh and this was largely because of the presence of presence of Singareni Collieries Company Limited and temple town Bhadrachalam. Peddapalli, Sangareddy, Karimnagar, Medak, Siddipet, Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri, Nalgonda, Suryapet and Khammam reported per capita income in excess of ₹1 lakh.
