Several developmental works worth Rs. 7 crore were inaugurated in Mayor Mohd. Majid Hussain’s division of Ahmednagar by Hyderabad MP and Majlis chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday.
The division can now boast of a new community hall, a ladies training centre, a ration shop at Syednagar and a new bus stop. Pensions were given away to senior citizens, 100 gas connections to the poor under the ‘Deepam’ scheme, sports equipment to the youth and artificial limbs to the physically challenged were also distributed at a function organised on the occasion.
MIM Nampally MLA Virasat Rasool Khan, senior officials of GHMC and the Water Board were present in the evening where a new bus service -- from Ahmed Nagar to Secunderabad was also flagged off. Bank linkages worth Rs. 1.20 crore were distributed to the self help groups, identity cards under the ‘Vikaasam’ scheme to the disabled for use in hospitals and job letters to the youth who had participated in the last job mela.
The Mayor said that the second job mela will be conducted in the central zone on November 19 & 20 where about 100 firms are expected to participate.
He urged students and other aspirants to avail the opportunity and also to attend training classes for interviews to secure jobs. For the womenfolk, training will be provided on sewing, beautician and mehendi courses. Mr. Hussain vowed to develop Ahmednagar as the best in the city, a press release said.
