Hundreds from twin cities had a glimpse of a rare ‘drop of water' on Saturday when they visited the Mother Express, the exhibition train by the Indian Railways commemorating birth centenary of Mother Teresa who famously said - “What we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.”
The nondescript train of four air-conditioned coaches at Secunderabad station had a steady stream of visitors on Sunday, the second and concluding day of its halt here. Schoolchildren, families, young and old alike watched the show to know about life history of the celebrated mother and her lofty deeds.
Rare pictures of the young Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu who was to be the future Mother arrested all glances. Children were seen making notes of her life, while many clicked pictures and shot videos.

“I have always imagined her as a serious person, and never knew she performed in entertainment programmes or sang in choir as a young girl. The exhibition is very informative,” said Sabeena, a social worker. This is also the first time she knew Mother's original name was not Teresa.
Main focus of the show was Mother's life and work, supplemented by her quotes and others' quotes about her. Right from her birth in 1910, all details of her life including her joining the Sisters of Loreto, her travel to Kolkata, the start of ‘Nirmal Hriday', her service to the destitute, lepers and children, her voice against abortion, and her demise and beatification were comprehensively covered through an assortment of pictures, write-ups and an audio-visual documentary.
The train was flagged off on August 26, 2010 at the Sealdah station by the Railway Minister Mamatha Banerjee. It will halt at Kakinada and Visakhapatnam before leaving for Orissa. Thereafter, it will cover Jharkhand and Bihar before concluding the journey at Katihar on February 26.
